Hi! I’m Guillaume.
Here’s what I’m up to for most of the time:

Web Development and Strategy

I’ve been coding websites for a long time and I have a pretty good idea about the best practices and the pitfalls that come with. Today, I mostly work with the WordPress platform as I feel it is the quickest and most efficient way to get a presence online. It might not be for everybody, but I’ve yet to see a convincing case against it…

Product Management

My last “official” job was Product Manager. I was responsible for a suite of consumer imaging software. My web background gave me a very different approach to this role than what is usually used.

Most product life-cycles take a lot of time. During a lot of this time, the product is hidden from the customer. This creates a risk because even though you think you’re creating a great product, you are not the one that will buy it.

Anyone with a little experience on the web is familiar with the “Release early, release often” motto. I try to apply this thinking to the whole of the product life-cycle, from Research and Development all the way to End-of-Life.

Cycling

I ride my bike. A lot. I never actually stopped since the time I was a kid. You could say I’m a little obsessed about it!

I’m actually so into it that together with my good friend Fred Landry , we have founded our own bicycle import business, Pink Jersey Cycles. Now I actually have an excuse to ride my bike!

Music

Like most of you, I listen to a lot of music. I’m also quite interested in the gear used to reproduce music too. Discovering vinyl has really made an impact on me. I just don’t enjoy digital formats as much anymore… Don’t get me wrong, they’re practical, but for pure audio enjoyment? Nowhere near a great analog setup…

Speaking of great analog setups, I have the privilege of helping out a great friend of mine who’s actually building a turntable: Makingaturntable.com
