Most products and services we use everyday come from a long pipeline known as the Product Life Cycle. This stretches from scientific research ( the R in R&D ) all the way to the End of Life ( when a product is being discontinued ).

This process has been pretty much standardized over the years as we’ve become quite good at producing stuff. The problem is that this methodology isn’t in tune with a Web Life Cycle. Things just happen too fast online.

I work with a Web centered approach to the Product Life Cycle which aims to get customer feedback as quickly and as reliably as possible and to act on this information. If you come from the software development world, think “Release early, release often” mentality.

In an upcoming series on my Blog, i will go into a bit more detail on this approach. It is obviously not suited to all products and industries out there, but I find it useful in a wide variety of cases.
